Ten years in the game, and still the same two people

All Fencing Solutions has been fencing since 2013. We are based at Allanton, between Mosgiel and Outram, and we are a small family business owned by a local couple - Grant and Angela. When you ring the number on this website, one of us answers it. The person who comes out and quotes your job is the person who is accountable for it, and there is no subcontracted crew you have never met turning up on the day.

That is not a marketing line, it is the actual operating model, and it is the reason we behave the way we do. In a business this size your reputation is the whole asset. A job done badly in Mosgiel is known about in Mosgiel.

We are a fencing contractor that does the lot

Timber, colour steel, alloy panels, gates, retaining walls, decks, pole sheds, commercial fencing and rural and farm fencing. Whether it is a lifestyle block that needs stock-proof fencing or a townhouse wanting a straightforward timber fence, we have it covered.

Doing all of it under one roof is genuinely useful to you, because most fencing jobs are not only a fence. A sloping section needs a retaining wall before the fence line can run true. A new deck creates a privacy problem that needs a screen. A farm fence needs a gateway wide enough for the tractor. One crew, one quote, one person to hold responsible.

What we will not do

Over ten years we have built a reputation for turning up, doing the job properly, and not mucking around. In practice that comes down to three things we do not do:

• No half-finished work. If it is not right, it gets put right before we invoice, not after you notice.
• No shortcuts on compliance. Pool fencing, retaining wall heights, boundary rules. We will tell you what your job needs before we start and we will not build you something that cannot be signed off.
• No mess left behind. Offcuts, old posts, wire, packaging - it all leaves with us. We walk the finished job with you before we go.

We know the ground and the weather here

Ten years in one district teaches you things you cannot get from a spec sheet. Wet Taieri clay behaves differently from dry Clutha hill country. A fence at Port Chalmers or Brighton is living in salt air and will eat the wrong fixings. A Dunedin hillside needs stepped panels or fence built to the slope. Getting a post depth, a treatment level or a fixing wrong in Otago does not show up in the first year - it shows up in the fifth.

So we build for the site rather than to a standard detail, and we would rather explain why your quote is what it is than win the job by leaving something out.

The small jobs count too

Whether it is a small repair job or a full farm fence line, we treat it the same way - get it done right, at a fair price. Plenty of contractors will not quote a three-post repair or a dropped gate. We would rather fix it now and be the people you ring in five years when the whole boundary needs replacing.

Lifetime warranty on our workmanship*

We back our workmanship for the life of the fence. Conditions apply, and we would rather go through them with you when we quote than have you find out later what is and is not covered. Materials carry their own manufacturer warranties on top of that, and we will tell you which products you are getting.

No other fencing contractor in Otago that we know of offers it. We do, because we do not expect to be back.
