We do not expect to be back fixing our own work, and we put that in writing. Conditions apply and we will go through exactly what is covered when we quote, rather than leaving you to find out later.

It would only change if we ran into an unforeseen circumstance - and if that happens we contact you as soon as there is an issue, with the reason why and an indication of how the price may change. You hear it from us before the work carries on, not on the invoice afterwards.

Not every job is a full replacement. A gate that has dropped, three posts that have rotted at ground level, a fence line the stock keep finding a way through, storm damage after a southerly - we treat a small repair the same way we treat a full fence line. Get it done right, at a fair price.
That is worth saying out loud, because plenty of contractors will not quote small work. We would rather fix your gate now and be the people you ring in five years when the whole boundary needs doing.
If your fence is on its last legs, we will tell you that too. There is no point patching something that wants replacing, and no point replacing something that only needs a couple of posts.

No. The quote and the measure are free, and there is no obligation afterwards. We would rather come out, look at the ground properly and give you a real number than guess over the phone and change it later.
A standard suburban boundary fence is usually a day or two on site once the materials are here. A farm fence line, a fence that needs a retaining wall built first, or a job where the old fence has to come out will take longer. We give you the timeframe with the written quote so you are not guessing.
Our workmanship, for the life of the fence, subject to conditions. Materials are covered by their own manufacturer warranties, which we will tell you about at quote time. Ask us for the specifics before you sign anything - we would rather you knew exactly what you have.
It depends on the job. Height, pool fencing and retaining walls all have their own rules, and your district plan can restrict what you put on a boundary even where the Building Act does not require a consent. Pool fencing in particular has to meet the Building Code and be signed off. We will tell you what your job needs before we start, and we will not build something that cannot be signed off. If you are unsure, the Dunedin City Council or your local council is the place to confirm it.
Yes. We can pull the old fence out and dispose of it, and it goes in the written quote so there is no surprise at the end. Mention it when you ask for a price. Either way, our offcuts, old posts and packaging leave with us.
We are based at Allanton, between Mosgiel and Outram, and we cover Dunedin, the Taieri and South Otago as a matter of course - Portobello and Port Chalmers through to Milton, Balclutha, Lawrence, Waikouaiti and Palmerston. City sections are steep, so a fence and a retaining wall are often the same job. Add salt-laden wind off the harbour and material choice starts to matter.
